Reflective of chalets and rustic style architecture, this unusual home was built in the Timberframe style but with a modern twist. Exquisitely designed, the home features 5,000 sq. ft. of comfortable and contemporary living space. Silo House was inspired by a Scandinavian aesthetic inspired by Swedish minimalism with frameless windows, a soaring gabled roof and energy efficient insulated structural panels. It evokes a barn-style design that reflects the property’s farming roots.
Timberframe construction incorporates heavy timbers carefully fitted and secured together by large wooden pegs. Its advantages are numerous; aside from its pleasing good looks and gorgeous soaring roof, homes built in this style have a lower carbon footprint and cost less than half as much to heat and cool.
Seven traditional truss frames made of BC Douglas fir form the bones of this home.
Inside, a fully custom designed sliding barn door separates the master bedroom from the rest of the home. And the addition of mid-century furniture and vintage pieces contribute to an ambience of old-world charm.
